Do you know of any awareness programs or charities I can start in school to teach students to want to help?

I’m Vice President of the National Honor Society at my school and I wanted to start a world awareness thing (like world aids day where everyone wore red ribbons)…that I can raise money for or to simply gather a group of kids to post flyers and teach students…I can’t think of any ideas of national or world awareness holidays or any charities that I can make a (say) 2 week after school club for….

i wanted it to be for children, health, or like global warming….

When is charity giving to much. How do you stop charities that do give to much?

In the state of Michigan if you get pregnant and dont have any money the list goes on and on with the charities you will recieve. Health insurance that covers everything without a dime to pay for a copayment. Food stamps to pay for all the food. Wic to pay for all the formula and juice. Section 8 will pay your rent. Hud will buy you a brand new home. The state will pay for a new car. They will also pay $1200 to fix a car. They will pay for your gas. They will buy you clothes. They will give you carseats. The list goes on and on and on. How will they get people and teens especially to stop having kids if you live better once you have them. I work my **** off 40 + hours a week and my husband goes to college full time so we can have a good life. The girl I work with had 2 kids before 18 and is only 19 now lives 10 times better then I do. IN the city I live in we have more teen pregnany then any other city in MI and people wonder why! What can be done to stop this?

Do they actually get enough donations to cover the cost of all this stuff ? I am more likely to respond to a request that touches my heart, than to a bribe. How about you ?

What source (aside from the BBB) can I use to evaluate the credibility of various animal charities?

Some charities don’t provide detailed info to the Better Business Bureau because the process is so detailed, but they may worthy. Like so many others, I’d like to know that my charitable contributions are being spent on direct animal care and not administration, salaries, etc.

Why the hell doesnt uncle sam have better things to do? Its not like I gave $$$ to hezbollah or something. I just gave money to radical organizations with some links. God! Now I’m getting phone calls and letter like once a week! Im going to sue for systematic harrasment by the US gov. I pay these jokers salaries.
