Does anyone know any charities to drop these toys off at?

Kristina asked:

I have a lot of toys to give away. We were supposed to have a toy drive at work that was going to be given to charity but my boss had to go out of town so there’s no drive now. I don’t want to give it to a secondhand store or Goodwill because they sell them, they don’t give them away. I want to know if there are any charities right now that I can give these toys to that give them away so they don’t go to waste.

If they’re brand new, unwrapped toys you can donate them to Toys For Tots (most KMart locations have a drop box). The Marine Corps then takes them and distributes them out to needy children in your community.

usually malls have bins for toys, but i believe they need to be new toys..unwrapped. so i’m not sure.

Toys for tots or take them to a local womens shelter or childrens hospital!!! When I was a kid we took toys to Ronald McDonald house…the kids loved it and it taught my brother and I a good lesson!

  • USMC O-2 says:

Toys for Tots sponsered by the USMC reserve and is a great organization that will get your toys to a needy child.

call you local nonemergency number for your police and see if they know any families that are down on their luck. or call a radio station and offer them to a morning show to find a family in need. they can take calls from people nominating others in need.

You can give them to your local hospital for the childrens ward or you can hand them in to the Salvation army to make up a gift box for the children that wont be receiving anything this year.

Toys for tots. They have alot of bins around like at malls and grocery stores. You could also call them and they’ll tell you where the nearest drop off point near you is.

  • butterfly says:

bring them to the salvation army or the hospitals, they would greatly be appreciated.

The Salvation Army! The SA shelters 1000′s of families every year. These families have kids. These kids would love to have new toys for the holidays. Call your local SA to find out more.

(no I don’t work for them. I do donate my time and did donate a lot of toys/stuffed animals to the local SA Women and Children’s center)

Some major cities have a shelter for women and children like the one in my hometown Jax. FL. those shelters are always glad to accept donations of any kind. These shelters are for the homeless women and children, yes they are out there and they do exist.

  • Respectful says:

Awww! That’s wonderful! I donate all my toys to toys for tots box at my local post office. They do it every year. :) I Hope you find someone to donate to them. Try your local Children’s Hospital, perhaps they’d like them.
