What are good charities to donate to?

I live in Canada and my family and I wish to donate money to charities but we do not know which charity/charities we should donate to. We want to donate to medical or hospital charities. Thanks.
It does not necessarily have to be a children’s hospital.

   cancer research centers , aids research, diabetes research, the center for missing children, **** crisis centers ,fire departments schools, churches, state run foster care facilities, center for the blind , there are so many things/people who need more funds. What are your passions donate to them.

   In the US we have hospice. Do you have this? If not, cancer research. I am a cancer nurse, patients come in all ages.
